SUPERVISING AUTHORITY: MPW/VOAK Works Direction
CONTRACTOR: DORIKOS SA
LOCATION: City of Heraklion, Crete
PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS: 6 spans Superstructure, total length 230.3, deck width 11.80m, box section hav=3.14m, post tensioned concrete, balanced cantilever method construction, pile foundation. The new viaduct was constructed adjacent to existing equal span, structure, in order two more lanes be added to VOAK (widening). Due to the fact that the new piers had to be aligned with the existing special construction procedures were employed to overcome problems arising from spans asymmetry
PROJECT BUDGET: 3.000.000 € (2001)
